Vernal Pools Meeting

The CTP and DEM met with the town of Exeter , RI's Planning Department to share the results of a URI study on the prioritization of non-regulatory protection of vernal pools in the Queen's River Watershed. Planning Board members learned to not only identify where the vernal pool “hotspots” were located throughout the town, but specifically where they occur on the site of a pending subdivision development so that they and as much of their associated buffers are avoided and therefore protected.
