Low Impact Development (LID) Site Planning and Design Date: Wednesday, December 14, 2011 Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Location: RI Department of Environmental Management, Providence , RI Audience: *Planners and other municipal staff and officials *3.0 AICP CM credits offered This workshop presented an overview of the new Rhode Island Community LID Site Planning and Design Guidance Manual (LID Manual) to municipal staff and officials, designers, builders, non-profit staff and others. The LID Manual provides communities with the specific guidance, case studies and economic justification they can use to revise their existing land use regulations to more effectively avoid and reduce the impacts of development to water quality, habitat and community character. This companion guidance to the new Rhode Island Stormwater Design and Installation Standards Manual (Stormwater Manual) helps communities to more effectively meet LID standards and requirements as outlined in the Stormwater Manual.
